N a t u r e s c a p e s Thorny vegetation finds a natural place in the generally dry habitat of Rajasthan and if you're out in the countryside or the wild, thorns cling to your clothes, often cause minor bruises and wish to come home with you! This picture is a closeup of the beautiful thorny plant Acacia Jacquemontii. Locally known as Bu-banvali or Ratio-banwal, the wood of this shrub was traditionally used by gold, silver and iron smiths as it gives intense beat while burning. Photographed in July 2005 |
