Morning scene at the historic town of Amer (or Amber), 11 kms north of Jaipur. Visible in the photo are a bit of Amer town, Amer fort and above that, Jaigarh Fort.
The fort, palaces, havelis, stepwells, temples and Elephant ride here offer a fantastic glimpse into the 16th century life of Kachhwaha rulers—the founders of Amer.
