R u r a l s c a p e s A small village of cattle herders in the middle of the Thar desert, on the outskirts of Jaisalmer. It would be difficult to imagine that people can survive by living in the middle of a desert. But they can, and have, for centuries. Seeing people here live in extreme heat (upto 47 degrees celsius) and cold (as low a zero degrees celsius in winters) conditions without modern-day 'electric' comforts offers insights on human adaptation and sustainability.
