Jakham River     N a t u r e s c a p e s

Photograph of Jakham river flowing through Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary.

One of the lesser known rivers of Rajasthan (there aren't too many here :-) Jakham originates in the hills near Chotti Sadari in Chittorgarh district and flows through the hilly region of Udaipur District in a southwestern direction, travelling a distance of approximately 900 square miles to join Som near Bilara village. Karmai and Sukliare are Jakham's tributaries. A dam on this river serves irrigation purposes.
