Johri Bazaar, Jaipur     C i t y s c a p e s

Uniform looking buildings (old and renovated) and shops constiture the ever-so-busy Johri Bazaar (market) in the Jaipur walled city. Johri is the hindi word for jewellers and that's what this market is famous for!

The Jaipur walled city—also known as the Pink City—was one of the first well planned cities of India, built in 1727 AD by one of the greatest rulers of the Kachhawaha clan: king Sawai Jai Singh.
