N a t u r e s c a p e s Subtle hues and texture of Phulera Lake, west of Jaipur, resemble an impressionist's canvas! Specialized algae and bacteria growing in saline water lakes often provide striking shades of colour on water surface. Approximately 31 percent area of Rajasthan (mainly western part) has saline groundwater and people here have been harvesting rainwater for centuries. Photo date: Sept. 2006 |
