N a t u r e s c a p e s Malwa plateau ends to give way to the plains of Rajasthan in the north, near Chittorgarh. Malwa—a region in western India—occupies a plateau of volcanic origin in the western part of Madhya Pradesh state and south-eastern Rajasthan. Average elevation of the Malwa plateau is 500 metres, and the landscape generally slopes towards the north. Malwa was a separate political unit from the time of the Aryan tribe of Malavas until 1947 (Year of India's independence). Photo date: March 2006 |
