N a t u r e s c a p e s A pair of Painted Thorn Bush (Dichrostachys cineria) flowers celebrate the monsoon by huddling together!!! This unique and uncommon wildflower (here shown in approximately twice the original size) blooms during the monsoon months. Being one of the few wildflowers blooming at that time, it certainly beautifies the surroundings. Painted Thorn Bushes prefer hilly terrain and grow all along the drive to Nahargarh / Jaigarh Forts in Jaipur (a good place to see them). Photo date: Sept. 2005 |
