Rural Hut and flowering Rohira trees     R u r a l s c a p e s

A beautiful rural hut surrounded by flowering Rohira trees, en-route to Salasar Ke Balaji temple, near Sikar.

A large number of village-folk in Rajasthan still make use of locally available material to fulfil their day-to-day needs. The round, disc-like forms lying in front of the hut are kandaas or 'fuel tablets' made out of dried cow dung, and are burnt to cook food on. They provide ideal temperature for cooking.
