Demoiselle Cranes (Grus virgo) put up a splendid aerial display for the photographer at Taal Chhapar Wildlife Sanctuary.
Demoiselle Cranes (besides Blackbucks) are the other star attraction at Taal Chhapar. They migrate from Central Asia and winter here in good numbers. Locally known as Khurja, they are (traditionally) considered as signs of good luck and find symbolic representation in folk art and crafts of Rajasthan. Many folk songs are based on them.
