Agriculture is still the main occupation of a majority of people in rural Rajasthan and many are forced to migrate to work in cities as daily labourers in years of drought or erratic monsoon rains. Rajasthan isn't one of the best irrigated states in India though irrigation projects are always on, aiming to improve the life of rural people.
